The Nitro Vertical split board adheres to a construction philosophy of reduced materials for increased performance, speed, and lowest weight. A directional split board shape is narrower than any other split board in the line, reducing the overall set-up weight and friction on snow, resulting in an energy-saving, faster hike to the top. In addition, the longer nose shape and slight setback offer a well-balanced float distribution allowing you to surf down the untracked powder you deserve.

Every little detail on this board has been challenged and re-designed. A new proprietary edge geometry saves 40% of weight compared to standard edges. The board’s lightweight top sheet construction sheds 60% compared to the standard, another 20% on the Sintered Speed Formula II Base. While the optimized insert pattern saves another 35% of steel compared to other insert patterns. Because on the way up, every gram counts!

The board’s secret ingredient is Nitro’s lightest Powerlite core to date. Koroyd, a patented tubular cell structure consisting of 95% air and a mix of low-density, selected wood, creates a powerful ride and lots of snap. The Diamond Laminate carbon fibre layup further reduces weight while adding precision and response and keeping the board lively and fast.

Vertical skins are constructed with 65% Mohair / 35% synthetic Nylon fibre mix to combine a low friction stride with maximum grip and durability. In addition, these skins feature Kohla’s signature Fibre seal and Smart Glue Technologies to reduce water absorption and maintain a lasting performance in fast-changing conditions and over a long time.
